III Check the Fuse
2 A Fuse
Remove
Replace
with new fuse
if blown
5. Determine the status of the fuse visually or by using a multimeter (Figure 31). If using a
multimeter, set it to Ohms. Place one lead on each of the two fuse contacts. The reading will
waver but remain very low (mΩ range); a bad fuse will result in overload (OL). If the fuse is blown,
replace it and go to step 10. Pliers may be required to remove the fuse from the socket. If the
fuse is good, go to the next step.
