Mounting Instructions
Model # SP-9500X
Step 1: If using pickup/dump body, remove tailgate. If using platform body, remove rear stake sides.
Step 2: Load spreader onto truck bed.
Step 3: Install Rear Stop Bracket (F50465) onto Auger Extension Weldment (see diagram p. 20) using provided hardware [D4119 x2; D4115 x2;
D5535 x2]
Step 4: Slide spreader forward until Stop Bracket touches the rear of the truck body.
Step 5: Slide spreader left or right keeping the spreader in the same front-to-back alignment until centered side-to-side. Use a tape measure for
greatest accuracy. The spreader must be centered for the safety of the vehicle, its driver and those nearby.
Step 6: You will notice there are four holes in the bottom rail of each sideframe. These holes are on the bottom of the rail and will be used to mount
the spreader to the truck body. There are also two holes in the rear stop bracket. Mark all these hole locations using a paint pen or similar
device.
Step 7: Look underneath the truck body, checking that there are no vehicle components that will be in the path of the drill. If there are interferences,
the holes can be relocated in the frame. Make sure there are 2 holes in each sideframe forward and rearward the front-back centerline.
Step 8: Drill the holes in the marked positions using a 9/16 inch drill bit. (You may need to slide the spreader four to eight inches to either side in
order to drill the holes without climbing underneath the truck.) Wear eye protection when drilling.
Step 9: Slide the spreader back into position over top of the holes just drilled. Install Bolt through spreader frame and truck body with Washer and
Nut below. Tighten all fasteners.
Step 10: Attach Ratchet Straps (F50600) using provided hardware as in diagram inset on page 20. Tighten the fasteners. Hook Ratchet Strap’s other
end to truck body. Tighten the Straps.
