TESTING THE ALARM
To test the alarm, you can make a simple device
that will simulate the size and weight of a young
child. See Figure 11 and Fig 12.
The materials needed are:
• (4) 1.5L bottles
• Duct tape
• 6 ft of strong string
1)Fill the four bottles with water.
2)Use the duct tape to strap all 4 of the
bottles together.
3)Tie the string tightly to one of the
bottles.
4)Ensure the water is calm.
5)Turn the alarm to active mode and
place the alarm in the water.
6)Drop the bottles into the pool from a
height of 2 feet. The alarm should
sound. Use the string to retrieve the
bottles.
7)Repeat above steps (2-5) from several
areas of the pool to ensure the alarm
is positioned and operating correctly.
IMPORTANT: Test the alarm weekly to
ensure it is in working order.
IMPORTANT: If the siren does not sound
when the wave/wake created by the bottles
reaches the alarm; ensure the batteries are
installed correctly and the alarm is set to
active mode.
