7.10. Firmware Update
Firmware updates are applied to a device by flashing a binary firmware file, using the
configuration interface (Ethernet, RS-232 or USB) of the Strobe Controller. The device has to
be in OFF mode, updates via Ethernet must be applied having a permanent IP address (not
DHCP) set.
To update the firmware, execute the following steps:
1) Start the ScLibClient and connect to the target Strobe Controller
2) Open the
Status
tab and press the
Firmware Update
button.
3) Click the
Browse
button to select the firmware binary to install.
4) After selecting a firmware, click on the
Check firmware file
button to run a compatibility
test between the device and firmware.
5) If the selected firmware is compatible, “PASSED” is indicated in text window, and the
Upload new firmware to device
button will become available. Click on
Upload new
firmware to device
to start updating the firmware.
