2.4 Replacing the Hard Disk Module
In this section you can find information on how to replace the hard disk module.
Replacement procedure
To replace the hard disk, proceed as follows.
1. Make sure a replacement hard disk module is available.
2. Take all necessary steps in your operating system to make the hard disk module ready
for removal (the steps depend on the OS you are using).
3. Loosen the two thumb screws of the hard disk module.
4. Pull the hard disk module outward by holding both screws and exerting equal force to
keep it straight.
5. Align the replacement hard disk module to the guiding rails of the hard disk slot.
If the hot swap feature is not supported on your RTM, you cannot replace the hard
disk module yourself. Please send the RTM to your local support representative to
have the hard disk module replaced.
NOTICE
Damage of Circuits
Electrostatic discharge and incorrect RTM installation and removal can damage
circuits or shorten their life.
Before touching the RTM or electronic components, make sure that you are working
in an ESD-safe environment.
