Maintenance
The SB3800U is designed to provide many years of trouble-free service. Performing
regular maintenance will help ensure the long life and high efficiency of your system.
Cleaning the Fans
The fan intake and exhaust fins should be cleaned periodically with a vacuum cleaner.
(Do not blow air into the fan areas). For deeper cleaning, the screen and/or the fan can
be removed completely.
The fan is mounted on the bottom side of the SB3800U. To clean or replace the fan
please follow the steps below:
• Turn OFF the DC disconnect and the AC discon-
nect and wait 5 minutes for any residual voltages
to dissipate.
• Carefully remove the black plastic plate and filter
in front of the fan.
• The fan is fastened with three plastic tabs on the
enclosure. There are two holes in front and one
on the back. The tabs are inside the holes. You
can loosen the tabs by pressing a screwdriver
against the tabs.
• Remove the fan carefully.
• To clean the fan and filter use a soft brush or
cloth. Do not use air pressure for cleaning the
fan. This will damage the fan.
• When the fan is clean, reinstall it using the
above steps in reverse order.
•
Do not
blow air through the fan or the fan screen while the fan is still mounted in the
SB3800U.
