Manual Starting
Insert the key in the ignition switch and turn to ON position.
Activate the choke or the primer according to the temperature as
explained above.
Grab manual starter handle, pull handle slowly until a resistance is
felt, then hold handle firmly and pull vigorously to start engine.
Electric Starting (for models so equipped)
Insert key in ignition switch.
Activate the choke or the primer according to the temperature as
explained above.
Turn key clockwise until starter engages.
Release key immediately when engine has started.
CAUTION:
Do not use electric starter for more than 10 seconds.
A rest period should be observed between the cranking cycles to
let electric starter cool down. Using electric starter when engine
has started could damage electric starter mechanism.
NOTE:
If for any reason, the engine cannot be cranked electrically,
place ignition key to ON position and start engine manually using the
rewind starter.
WARNING
Do not apply throttle while starting.
WARNING
Never depress throttle while starting engine.
