1. Scope of delivery
The TWIM 15 portable induction heater contains the
following:
• Induction heater TWIM 15
• Magnetic K-type 400 mm
(1.31 ft)
temperature
probe TWIM 15-3
• Temperature resistant gloves TMBA G11
• Schuko plug (not mounted) in the
TWIM 15/230V version
2. Introduction
The TWIM 15 portable induction heater is designed
to heat up roller bearings that are mounted with an
interferenc
e it onto a shaft.
Other ring-shaped metallic components can also be
heated.
The heat causes the bearing to expand, which
eliminates the need to use force during installation.
A 90 °C
(162 ° F) temperature difference between
the bearing and shaft is generally suficient to
enable the installation.
At ambient temperature of 20 °C
(68 °F) the bearing
must be heated to 110 °C (230 ° F) .
Greased and sealed bearings can be heated.
Shielded bearings or sealed bearings with metallic
insertions must be controlled as the shield or
the metallic insert might heat much faster than
the bearing itself. The reduced power setting is
recommended in these cases.
