Installing the Battery Pack

To enhance battery life, SKC ships battery packs separate from the pump. Once
installed, completely charge battery pack before operating pump.

1.  Carefully align the ba

tt

 ery jack on the ba

tt

 ery pack with the ba

tt

 ery ter-

minal on the bo

tt

om of the pump base plate and push the ba

tt

 ery pack

into place.

2.  Insert and tighten two security screws

provided.

3. Charge

ba

tt

 ery completely before operating

pump (

see Charging the Ba

tt

 ery Pack

).

Charging the Battery Pack

Ensure the pump is

not

running. Do not operate pump while charger is

a

tt

 ached. To charge the ba

tt

ery, insert the charging plug from the charger

into the ba

tt

ery charging jack on the back of the pump. Plug the charger

into a standard wall outlet. The PowerFlex Charger will fully recharge the
ba

tt

 ery in

 6 hours

(see Accessories on page 28 for charger)

. Follow charger

instructions.

Using a non-approved charger voids the SKC
warranty.

Tampering with the battery pack voids the SKC
warranty and the UL Listing for intrinsic safety.

Do not charge or operate pump from charger in
hazardous locations.

Ensure that the computer interface port is
covered before and during charging.

Ensure proper orientation of charging cable before plugging it
into the charging jack. Improper orientation/contact will short-
circuit the battery. See photo at right. Note the keyed side of the
charging cable plug must mate with the keyed side of the pump
charging jack. Inserting the plug does not take much force. If
force is required, the plug is not properly oriented.

Short-circuiting the battery pack will render it immediately
inoperative.
