5.5. Connecting the VolumION to a high voltage power unit
Note:
- Check that the power unit is the 7 kV type.
- Do not connect the high voltage cable(s) to the power unit with a loop.
(Please also refer to the user manual for the power unit)
- Do not kink the high voltage cables or lay them in sharp curves.
- Make sure that the equipment is properly earthed.
(The anti-static bars of the VolumION are earthed by the shielded cable via the power unit
and indirectly via the PE conductor in the power cable)
- Using the assembly clamps supplied, fix the high-voltage cable alongside the machine frame.
- Remove the protective cap from the high voltage cable.
- Connect the high voltage cable to the power unit.

5.6. Shortening the high voltage cable
The metal shielding must not be shortened.
The (blue) high voltage cable must only be shortened as shown in figure 4.
Warning:
Do not damage the transparent PE insulation underneath!
