Troubleshooting
The following table will help you to identify and rectify minor malfunctions:
Fault Possible cause Remedy
The buttons do not
light up and no
steam comes out of
the appliance.
The power plug is not con-
nected to the mains socket. Insert the power plug into the
mains socket.
The appliance is not switched
on.
Press the STANDBY button

The buttons light
up or flash, but no
steam is coming
out of the appli-
ance.
There is no water in the water
tank
.
Pour water into the water tank
.
The steam smells.
The water in the water tank
has not been changed for
a long time.
Clean the water tank and
pour in fresh water.
Only a small
amount of steam is
coming out of the
appliance.
The heat converter ! needs
descaling.
Clean the heat converter ! .
The water in the water tank
has not been changed for
a long time.
Clean the water tank and
pour in fresh water.

Cleaning/limescale removal
DANGER
Risk of electrocution!
► Remove the power plug from the mains socket before starting to clean the
appliance.
CAUTION
Possible damage to the appliance!
► To avoid irreparable damage to the appliance, ensure that no moisture can
penetrate the appliance during cleaning.
► Never try to remove limescale with pointed or sharp objects. This could damage
the appliance.
