The right ingredients
Excessively moist, large or hard ingredients are not optimal for processing by
the appliance and may also block the screw press
(see section
““Removing
a blockage””
). For the best possible result, make sure you choose the right
ingredients.
■
Choose nuts, seeds and seeds with a high oil content, such as linseeds,
sunflower seeds, peanuts, poppy seeds, macadamia nuts, pistachios,
almonds, sesame seeds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts, argan nuts, mustard
seeds, chia seeds, Brazil nuts, cashew seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds,
rapeseed, grape seeds. Olives and soybeans, for example, are not suitable.
■
The ingredients used should not be larger than a hazelnut, otherwise they
cannot be optimally processed. Crush larger ingredients before processing.
■
The ingredients used must be as dry as possible in order to achieve an
optimum result. Excessively moist ingredients can also stick and block the
press screw
. You can dry the ingredients in the oven before processing:
spread them out thinly on a baking tray and slide it onto the middle rail of
the oven. Dry the ingredients at 60 °C (convection) to 80 °C (top/bottom
heat) for approx. 1 hour. Check the drying process regularly.
