Charging and fitting the battery
•
Charge the battery fully before using the machine for the
first time.
•
Press the lock fasteners on the sides of the battery pack
(10) and remove.
•
Plug charger (12) into mains socket. Insert battery in
charger to activate. The battery cannot be inserted if the
poles are incorrectly aligned.
•
The red diode light on front of charger will come on when
charger is connected and will blink green while charging
battery. Charging takes 1-1½ hours. When battery is fully
charged, green diode will light. If diode blinks rapid green,
battery is defective.
•
Disconnect the charger from the mains and insert the
battery in the drill.
Turning the support handle
•
The support handle (5) can be rotated around the drill
chuck to a position to suit - e.g. vertically under the machine
or horizontal out to either side, for the best possible support.
Loosen the handle by turning it anti-clockwise. Move to
desired position and tighten by turning in the opposite
direction.
Changing bits
•
Turn the outer part of the chuck (1) clockwise to open the
holders.
•
Insert the desired drill bit (a) in the chuck and turn the
chuck clockwise (c) until it has a firm grip on the bit.
•
Check that the bit is in the centre of the chuck and is
secure.
Selecting direction
•
Select drill direction (left (b) or right (c)) on the toggle
switch (6). The hammer drill function can only be used
when the switch is pushed to the right (clockwise rotation
for screwing or drilling). Note! If the switch is in the
middle, the machine will not start.
Preparation and adjustment
ENGLISH
•
If using as a screwdriver, never use on hammer drill setting.
•
Do not use damaged or worn drill bits and always use the
correct type of bit for the job.
•
Secure small items in a vice or similar. Never hold the item
in your hand!
•
Check for concealed power cables or the like in the item/
surface to be drilled to avoid hitting them with the drill bit.
Always use the insulated handle to hold the drill to avoid
risk of electric shock from concealed power cables.
•
Place a piece of scrap wood under the item if possible.
Avoid the drill damaging objects under or behind the item,
e.g. when drilling in walls.
•
Always maintain a firm grip on both handles when using
the machine.
•
Avoid blocking the ventilation slots with your hands.
•
The drill must not be in contact with anything when starting it.
•
Release the on/off button immediately if the bit gets stuck
in the item. Switch drilling direction and remove the bit.
•
Always use ear protectors when using the hammer drill
function.
•
Drilling certain substances can cause harmful dust. Always
wear a mask.
•
The drill must be totally stopped before switching between
drilling and hammer drilling, changing direction, adjusting
moment or drill speed.
•
Never put the machine down if the drill is still rotating.
Wait until the chuck has stopped completely before putting
the drill down, and pull the plug out of the socket if it is
not to be used further.
•
Avoid touching the drill bit after use. It may be very hot.
•
Do not use the charger outdoors or in humid conditions.
