14. Upgrade Guidelines
14.1. Operating System Upgrade
The GL7x00’s operating system is stored in flash memory and can be easily upgraded.
The operating system file can be downloaded into the GL7x00 using FLASH tools.
Listed below are the signals required to upgrade firmware using a serial link:

RXD
•
RTS
•
CTS
•
GND
The operating system file can also be downloaded onto the GL7x00 using the DOTA (download over
the air) feature.

14.2. Firmware Upgrade
The firmware upgrade procedure is used to update the firmware embedded in the GL7x00.
This procedure consists of downloading the firmware into internal memories through either the RS232
serial link available on the Micro-fit 8-pin connector, or the micro-USB connector.
