Maintenance cycle
SIRIUS Motor starter protectors and
contactors
• Checking conditions of insulation
between phases and between the latter
and the ground.
(Operations to be performed every
six months).
SIRIUS Motor starter protectors
• It is not possible replacing power
contacts on SIRIUS 3RV motor starter
protector.
• We recommend replacing the motor
starter protector after an intervention
for a short circuit corresponding to its I
cu
value.
• We recommend replacing the motor
starter protector when it has reached the
end of its mechanical service life:
3RV2,11 = 100.000 maneuvering cycles
3RV2,2 = 100.000 maneuvering cycles
3RV1,3 = 50.000 maneuvering cycles
3RV1,4 = 50.000 maneuvering cycles
• We recommend replacing the motor
starter protector when it has reached the
end of its electrical service life:
3RV2,11 = 100.000 maneuvering cycles
3RV2,2 = 100.000 maneuvering cycles
3RV1,3 = 25.000 maneuvering cycles
3RV1,4 = 25.000 maneuvering cycles
• Checking mechanical fixing screws
tightening to its assembly plate.
• Whenever the system is stopped for
ordinary/extraordinary maintenance
works, it is advisable to check the
tightening of all power and auxiliary
terminals of contactors. This operation
is not necessary if the contactors are
fitted with Cage-Clamp type connecting
terminals.
• If the panels are installed on the
machine, checking and tightening the
mechanical fixing screws to its assembly
plate.
• Checking contact state of wear.
SIRIUS Contactors
• In operating conditions at the full power
specified for AC-3 utilization class, the
electrical service life of 3RT contactor
contacts ranges from 1,200,000 to
1,800,000 maneuvering Cycles. It is
advisable checking and monitoring
the conditions of the contacts during stops
for ordinary or scheduled maintenance
works, and at least at 30%, 50% and 70%
of the contacts’ electrical service life.
For contactors in Series SIRIUS 3RT103
and 3RT107, this check is performed by
removing the spark quenching chamber
when the contactoris not powered
• For SIRIUS 3RT201. and 3RT202.
contactors contact replacement is
impossible
• When it has reached the end of its
electrical service life, the contact must be
replaced in its entirety.
We recommend performing these
operations at least every 6/12 months,
also as function of site conditions
(for instance, panels or machines
exposed to vibrations).
