CPLUG (configuration plug)
Exchangeable C-PLUG
The CP has an exchangeable configuration plug (CPLUG). This can store up to 32 MB of
data in nonvolatile memory.

The retentive parameters include:
–
IP address and IP parameters
–
Newly set MAC address
–
Interconnection information for PROFINET CBA
–
SNMP variables (modifiable)

Data in the flash file system (see also Flash area in the section Memory organization in
the CP 4431 Advanced (Page 38))
This configuration plug simplifies replacement of modules. By simply exchanging the plug, all
the data can be transferred to the replacement module.
Under article number 6GK1 900-0AB00 the C-PLUG is also available with a size of 256 MB.

Startup
The CP will not start up without a CPLUG!
Area of application
The C-PLUG is an exchangeable medium for storage of the configuration data of the basic
device (CP 443-1 Advanced). This means that the configuration data remains available if the
basic device is replaced.
How it works
Power is supplied by the end device. The C-PLUG retains all data permanently when the
power is turned off.
Inserting the C-PLUG
The slot for the C-PLUG is on the rear panel of the device.
The C-PLUG is inserted in the compartment.
