5.4.2 Sending alarms to the ACS7…
connected via modem
1. If there is a direct connection between PC and OCI600,
cut it.
2. Connect your modem to the OCI600 and check power
supply and wiring to the OCI600 and the telecommuni-
cation network.
3. On the OCI600, on line number 11 of operating card 3,
set the following parameter:
1 = communication via modem.
4. Connect your second modem to the PC and check power
supply and wiring to the telecommunication network and
the COM port.
5. Start
ACS Alarm
via the
ACS Alarm
icon on your desk-
top or via
Start > Programs > ACS > ACS Alarm
.
6. Open
the
Extras > Connections…
menu.
7. Select the line with your modem entry and close by choo-
sing “Supervise“ and “OK“.
8. Create a new plant, if necessary.
9. Start with ACS Operation – [Popcard].
Note:
The entire setup can be made with ACS Service.
Opening a communication via modem is only possible
with ACS Operation.
10. From the ACS7.. menu, select
Plant > Plant proper-
ties…
11. Choose
Continue
to go to the
Communication
menu.
12. Go to “Connection“ to select your modem.
13. Enter your plant’s phone number in the “Phone no.
plant:“ field.
Important:
The phone number is possibly preceded by
an 0 for an outside line.
14. Choose menu item
Plant > Connect.
15. Status window “Connection information“ appears. This
window shows the current state of communication build-
up. When the window disappears, communication is
opened.
