After pressing one of the two buttons, the dialog "Add user" or the dialog "Edit user" is
displayed. Both dialogs boxes are identical in content.
The following figure shows an example of the "Edit user" dialog box.

"Login user name": Display field with the login name of the user.
●
"Groups": Selection list for assigning the user to one or more user groups. The user
groups correspond to the roles which have been defined in the WinCC project for the HMI
device and assigned the corresponding function rights. The following system-defined
roles can be transferred to the HMI device:

Note
Assign the "Control Panel access" function right via a user-defined role
There is no system-defined role in WinCC to which the "Control Panel access" function
right is assigned. To give a user full access to the Control Panel of the HMI device,
proceed as follows:
•
Configure a user-defined role.
•
Assign this role the "Control Panel access" and "User administration" function rights.
•
Assign the user-defined role to the desired user.
You can find detailed information on creating users, roles and functional rights in the TIA
Portal Information System.

"Password": Text box for the password of the user. If you do not enter anything, the
user's existing password remains unchanged.
●
"Confirm password": Text box for confirming the new password.
●
"Maximum session timeout": Maximum permitted login time in minutes.
