Gateway as PROFINET IO proxy
Requirements: There must be an online connection to the relevant PROFINET IO controller.
1.
Select the LINK in the project tree.
2.
Select "Online & diagnostics" > "Identification & Maintenance".
Writing the I&M data using STEP 7
1.
Select the LINK in the device view of the hardware and network editor.
2.
Entered the required data in the properties in "General" > "Identification & Maintenance".
You can enter the following data:
–
Plant designation (I&M1)
–
Location identifier (I&M1)
–
Installation date (I&M2)
–
Additional information (I&M3)
Gateway in standard operation
When loading the hardware configuration, the I&M data is adopted directly.
Gateway as PROFINET IO proxy
When loading the hardware configuration, the I&M data is not adopted directly. The values
must be written to the device using suitable PROFINET mechanisms. STEP 7 provides
suitable functions for this.

STEP 7 V5.x

Select the LINK.

Select the menu command "PLC" > "Download Module Identification".

STEP 7 Professional
–
Select the LINK in the project tree.
–
Select the menu command "Options > Hardware Configuration > Compile and
Download > Download I&M Data".

Compile the configuration data (shortcut menu)
–
Download the configuration data (shortcut menu) "Download to device" > "Hardware
configuration"
–
In the column "Data for Identification & Maintenance (I&M)" select the tab "Download
data" or "Download selected".
Reading/writing I&M data with the user program

To read I&M data in the user program, use the the block SFB52 "RDREC".
●
To write I&M data in the user program, use the the block SFB53 "WRREC".
