Preprocessing Functions with AddFEM
(applies only for 6DL3100–8AB/–8AC)
The AddFEM 6DL3100–8AB/–8AC provides the possibility of executing subfunc-
tions of the automation, such as the positioner at turbine control systems, as pre-
processing functions. This allows time–critical functions which require short cycle
times to be relocated from the higher–level automation system to the AddFEM so
that less time–critical tasks remain on the higher–level automation system. These
preprocessing functions are called Front End Functions (FEF).
The FEF functions are made available as prepared functions which are configured
specifically by the user by means of parameters so that they can be adapted opti-
mally to the respective process.
Selection of the FEF Function via Configuration
A minimum of three different FEFs are available on or can be loaded to an
AddFEM in addition to the standard I/O. The FEF type can be set via the configu-
ration (for example, HW Config). The selection is carried out in the GSD file by
means of a numerical code (1, 2, 3, etc.) so that the GSD file does not have to be
adapted at every new FEF. Invalid basic settings (for example, default setting 0)
activate the basic function, i.e. only the I/O function.
Changes in Values of Parameters
For example, characteristic curve adaptation, controller parameters Kp, Tn, Tv,
etc.
In the case of 6DL3100–8AB the parameters for setting functions are provided by
the automation processor (SIMATIC AS 400 H or SIMADYN) and transferred cycli-
cally via the PROFIBUS–DP. At the SIMATIC AS 400 the parameters are saved in
a data block. At 6DL3100–8AC parameters are transferred acyclically with DPV1
services.
PROFIBUS DP Messages
In the case of preprocessing on the AddFEM configuration information and further
intermediate results have to be transferred additionally with a higher signal dyna-
mic. In order to transfer this extensive information, an extended PROFIBUS DP
message is used in case of preprocessing on the AddFEM.
