AS Redundant and AddFEM Redundant (Operating Mode 3)

At Operating Mode 3 the two AddFEMs which exist physically are docked “vir-
tually” to both PROFIBUS DP lines of the SIMATIC S7–400H.

Figure 5-21 AS redundant and AddFEM redundant

At this operating mode there are two AddFEMs with a total of four DP interfaces.
Four “modules” must therefore be configured in HW Config.

Two AddFEMs are displayed at each of the PROFIBUS DP lines in HW Config.
However, in reality “only” two AddFEMs are installed as hardware with two 
PROFIBUS DP interfaces. A PROFIBUS DP address has to be assigned to each
interface. Four “modules” must therefore be configured identically in HW Config.

Note

Operating Mode 3 “AS red. AddFEM red.” 

has to be set individually at each of the

displayed modules.
