Operating colour 'yellow': the device operates in asynchronous mode.
LED4, Power On
The LED "Power On" signals that the auxiliary voltage is active.
Operating colour 'green': The device communicates via the G.703.1 interface.
Operating colour 'yellow': The device communicates via the X.21 interface.
Pushbutton
The pushbutton can be used to switch between the operating modes.
Duration of Pressure of the button: < 100 ms: The time serves to debounce the
pushbutton.
Duration of Pressure of the button: > 100 ms, < 1s: Switchover into loop mode or into
operating mode is possible. LED 1 flashes red. LED 2, 3 and 4 are permanently
yellow.
Duration of Pressure of the button: > 1 s, < 5 s: During this time, the device performs
a reset after releasing the pushbutton.
Duration of Pressure of the button: > 5 s: The device switches once between
synchronous and asynchronous mode. This is signalled by a change of colour of LED
2 and 3.
Commissioning
Setting the communication converter
The configuration (selection of the interface and the transmission speed) of the communica-
tion converter is performed automatically. The transmission mode (synchronous/asynchro-
nous) is selected via the pushbutton (for details see section "Display and operation",
paragraph "Pushbutton").
Test mode:
Switching into test mode is accomplished via the pushbutton and signalled by the flashing
of LED 1 (for details, see section "Display and operation").
The test function is designed for easy commissioning or for service tasks. In this operating
mode, no signals pass through the communication converter (Figure 12). The signals
applying at the interfaces are looped so that parts of the entire communication path can be
checked.
The "Life Contact" relay is not energised in test mode.
