Maintenance plan
During operation, the device works maintenance-free.
NOTE
No maintenance is required to ensure compliance with the laser class.
Depending on the assignment location, the following preventive maintenance tasks
may be required for the device at regular intervals:

Cleaning
NOTICE
Equipment damage due to improper cleaning.
Improper cleaning may result in equipment damage.

Only use recommended cleaning agents and tools.

Never use sharp objects for cleaning.

Keep the windows clean to maintain the read performance of the device. Regularly
check the windows for contamination such as dust or humidity. If there is contami‐
nation, gently clean the window with a soft, damp cloth. Use a mild cleaning agent
if needed.

The windows in the PMMA variants can attract dust particles due to static charg‐
ing. To minimize this effect, use the anti-static plastic cleaner from SICK (no.
560000006) together with the SICK lens cloth (no. 4003353).
WARNING
Optical radiation: LED risk group 1, visible radiation, 400 nm to 780 nm
The LEDs may pose a danger to the eyes in the event of incorrect use.

Do not look into the light source intentionally.
•
Do not open the housing. Opening the housing will not switch off the light source.
Opening the housing may increase the level of risk.
•
Comply with the current national regulations on photobiological security of lamps
and lamp systems.
