Disassembly

WARNING:

CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN DISASSAMBLING AND

LIFTING ITEMS.  YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE PERSON

UNDERTAKING THIS PROCEDURE IS PHYSICALLY

CAPABLE OF LIFTING THE WEIGHT INVOLVED

1)  Ensure that the area in which the Powerchair is to be dismantled is spacious

enough to accommodate all the components.

2) Unplug the “Joystick Control Box” cord from the back of the powerchair by

pulling out the 9 pin plug fitted at the back of the frame.

3)  The arms may be removed to make the seat lighter to lift.  Under the rear of

the seat you will find two “hand knobs”. Release both by turning anti-
clockwise and slide out arms from each side.

4)  Fold seat forward by pulling up on the 2 yellow latches located under the rear

of the seat and hinge the seat forward. Note: (a)  Do not remove the seat yet.
(b) Gently lower the seat by protecting the seat and joystick/controller from
striking the floor/ground.

5)

The seat may now be removed by loosening the two “hand knobs” on each
side of the hinge enough to slide the seat back and away from the hinge.

6)

Remove the two seat support post assemblies, fitted with the yellow latch
mechanism, by pulling out the two steel pins holding the supports in place.

7)  Remove the plastic body panel beneath the seat area surrounding the battery

box by gently prying up under the back and side with your fingers. Note: The
panels are held in place with three strips of Velcro one under each side and
one under the back of the panel.
