Using the function control (continued)
Audio setting
A number of different methods are used to record audio onto a DVD video disc, includ-
ing multi-channels (used for voiceovers in other languages), Dolby Digital (5.1ch), DTS,
MPEG audio and Linear PCM. Your system provides a number of different audio modes
from which you can choose to suit the type of disc you are playing.

Press the SET UP button whilst pressing down the SHIFT button during playback.
The function control screen appears.

format you want to use.

Press the ENTER button to confirm the setting.
You can exit the function control screen by pressing the SET UP button whilst pressing
down the SHIFT button or the RETURN button.
Notes:
This function can only be used for discs on which the sound has been recorded in
multiple formats.
With certain types of discs, you can change the audio using the disc menu (see
page 40).
You can also press the AUDIO button on the remote control for the same operation
in step 3.
(You do not need to do the steps 1 and 2.)
Angle setting
You can change the angle of view when playing a DVD video disc that contains scenes
recorded from multiple angles.

The number of recorded angles differs depend-
ing on the disc used.

Press the ENTER button to confirm the setting.
You can exit the function control screen by pressing the SET UP button whilst pressing
down the SHIFT button or the RETURN button.
Notes:
You can also press the ANGLE button on the remote control for the same opera-
tion in step 3.
(You do not need to do the steps 1 and 2.)
This function can only be used for discs on which scenes shot from multiple angles
have been recorded.
When scenes recorded from multiple angles are played, “ANGLE” appears in the
display of the unit.
