Use an appropriate spindle speed setting for your
material. Different materials and router bits call
for different spindle speeds. Faster is not always
better. Visit support.shapertools.com for recom-
mendations on spindle speed settings to use with
various materials and router bits.
Never operate Origin in a situation in which it
could come in contact with its own cord.
Use Origin with a dust extraction system. Origin
is designed to be used with a dust extraction sys-
tem at all times. Connect to a dust extractor using
an appropriately-sized hose or the hose provid-
ed with Origin. For recommendations on dust ex-

Always operate Origin on a horizontal surface, it
is not intended to be used on a wall. Use of Origin
on a non horizontal surface may result in personal
injury.
Before performing a cut always make sure that
you have initiated a bit touch-off. Calibrating the
Z-Height of the router bit ensures that it does not
accidentally plunge into and damage the material
underneath your workpiece.
Unplug Origin’s plug from the power receptacle
in the wall to completely remove power supplied
to the tool. The spindle power switch removes
power supplied to the spindle only. The OFF switch
position does not remove power supplied to the
non-spindle portions of Origin.
