– Connecting to Siemens Profinet-IO PLC
ECIO supports PROFINET I/O and can be used as a remote I/O module to any Siemens
Profinet I/O capable PLC. ECIO only exchanges 2 input bytes and 2 output bytes with the
PLC so it uses very little of the PLC’s available I/O memory.
Once you have the appropriate GDSXML file installed into your TIA Portal programming
environment, ECIO will support Topological discovery and Media redundancy. The con-
figuration parameters (i.e. the equivalent parameters shown in the chart in section

the device under "Module parameters" tab. The configuration data bits have been seg-
