B. Reinitializing the dimmer in reverse phase control

When connecting a new load (e.g.: use of low voltage halogen instead
of incandescent lamps), it is recommended to reinitialize the dimmer.
Keep the select button pressed for as long as the power supply is
being switched on. The dimmer then returns to the standard mode,
i.e. reverse phase control. All LEDs blink for ±10s in confi rmation.

Function

A. Operation in the different modes

Mode 1: 0-10V analog

When this mode is selected, the dimmer will accept a voltage
control signal from 0 to 10V according to IEC standard 61131-2.
From 0 to 10V, the light can be adjusted from min. to max. light
intensity. If the input voltage lies below the threshold voltage
(±1V), the connected load will remain off. If the input voltage
equals the threshold voltage, the connected load lights at min.
Light intensity. If the input voltage is 10V, the connected load
lights at max. light intensity.
After a power failure, the dimmer switches back on to its
previous value. See

Fig. 2

.

Mode 2: 1-10V analog control

When this mode is selected, the dimmer operates via a current
control signal from 1 to 10V according to EN60929 standard.
From 1 to 10V, the light can be controlled from min. to max.
light intensity. The intensity of the current that fl ows through the
circuit, determines the light level. If the input voltage lies below
the threshold voltage (±1.5V), the connected load will remain off.
If no input voltage is connected, the connected load lights at
min. light intensity. If the input voltage is 10V, the connected load
lights at max. light intensity.
After a power failure, the dimmer switches back on to its
previous value. See

Fig. 2

.

Mode 3: 1-button mode

In 1-button mode, input 1 and input 2 have different and independent
functions. Input 1 functions as a 1-button dim function, with or
without memory. Input 2 allows light atmospheres to be saved and
retrieved at any time.

Operation input 1 (terminals 1 and 3):
Input 1 has a 1-button operation mode. See

Fig. 3

.

Memory function:

The dimmer can be used with or without memory. The is set to
1-button mode with memory function as a standard. To set the
dimmer without memory function, it suffi ces to keep the control
button pressed at max. light level for 10s. After 10s, the light will
decrease from max. to 50% to indicate that the memory function
is switched off. Immediately let go of the push button after this
change in light intensity! If you do not let go of the push button
immediately, there will be no changeover from ‘with memory’
to ‘without memory’ or vice versa. Repeat the procedure to
reactivate the memory function.
This function and the last set light value are saved in a
permanent memory. They are not lost in case of a power failure.
With memory function, the dimmer fi rst switches on at min. light
intensity. Then, the dimmer switches on at the last set light value.

With memory

Press briefl y = switching on/off, ‘on’ at previous level
Press long = dimming up/dimming down
Press long when dimmer is “off” = dimmer dims up from min..
When dimming up: dimmer stops at max. value.
When dimming down: dimmer stops 2s at min. value and then dims up.
A renewed (long) press reverses the dimming direction.

Without memory

Press briefl y when dimmer is off = dimmer is always switched on
at max. value.
The other operations are identical to those ‘with memory’.

Operation input 2 – Atmosphere button (terminals 1 and 2)
Input 2 enables you to save and retrieve an atmosphere. The
atmosphere is set to max. light intensity as a standard.
To save a light atmosphere, proceed as follows:
1. Set the desired light atmosphere with input 1.
2. Keep input 2 pressed for 3s. The connected load fi rst dims to

the previous set light atmosphere and after 3s to the desired
light atmosphere and then saves this atmosphere.

3. The light atmosphere has been set.

The light atmosphere can be retrieved at any time by pressing input 2.
To exit the light atmosphere and switch off the load, use input 1.
It is possible to simultaneously retrieve the light atmospheres of
different light circuits via the 1-button mode. To this end, connect
terminals 1 and 2 of the dimmers that control the relevant light
circuits. See

Fig. 3

.

After a power failure the load is switched off.
There can max. be connected 30 (non-lit) N.O. contacts in
parallel. The max. distance is 100m.

Mode 4: 2-button mode

In 2-button mode, input 1 (terminals 1 and 3) and input 2 (terminals
1 and 2) together function as a 2-button dimmer. See

Fig. 3

.

Memory function: Same as for Mode 3: 1-button mode.

With memory

Briefl y press input 1: the load is switched on.
Press input 1 long: dimming up
Briefl y press input 1: the load is switched on at previous level.
Press input 2 long: dimming down
When dimming up: dimmer stops at max. value.
When dimming down: dimmer stops at min. value.

Without memory

Briefl y press input 2: the load is switched on at max. value.
The other operations are identical to those ‘with memory’.
After a power failure, the load is switched off.

B. Meaning LEDs

Load LED (

Fig. 1

):

This LED lights if the load is connected and indicates in which
mode the dimmer is set. reverse phase control or phase control
(the choice is made automatically).

In case of normal operation, the load LED can have the following meaning:

LED’s

Meaning

Current mode: reverse phase control.

The LED lights continuously.

Current mode: phase control.

The LED blinks.

Error indication LED (

Fig. 1

):

In case of normal operation, this LED does not light. The LED
only lights if problems with dimming the load occur:

LED’s

Meaning

The dimmer operates with reverse phase control and cannot dim the

load due to an error (overload, overtension,...)

The LED lights continuously.
The dimmer operates with phase control and cannot dim the load

due to an error (overload, overtension,...)

The LED blinks.
