8.3 Upgrading the ﬁrmware or upload a new

permission ﬁle

The AsteRx SB Sx

ﬁ

rmware and permission

ﬁ

les both have the extension .suf (Septentrio

Upgrade Format). Firmware upgrades for the AsteRx SB Sx are freely available for the
lifetime of the receiver and can be downloaded from the Support section of the Septentrio
website. All upgrade

ﬁ

les and documentation relating to the upgrade are bundled together

in a single upgrade zip

ﬁ

le. We recommend that you read the release notes for the

ﬁ

rmware

upgrade beforehand in case there are any changes that may a

ﬀ

ect your use of the receiver.

Permission

ﬁ

les enable additional features on the AsteRx SB Sx and can be purchased via

our Sales department.

On the

Admin

menu select

Upgrade

and then click the

Choose ﬁle

button. You can then

select the upgrade .suf

ﬁ

le. For major upgrades, two or more

ﬁ

les may have to be upgraded

separately. The

ﬁ

les to be upgraded and the order for upgrading is documented in release

notes. After selecting the upgrade .suf
