Shunt Cal Resistor
If a SENSOTEC transducer has been purchased and
shipped with the PIM-3, the proper shunt calibration resis-
tor has been installed. If not, SENSOTEC normally ships
a 59,000 ohm 0.01% resistor installed in PIM-3. If the
transducer used with PIM-3 requires another value of
resistor, it may be necessary to remove the 59,000 ohm
resistor and install another. To install another shunt cal
resistor, proceed as follows:
1. Remove mating connectors from PIM-3, and remove the cover
of the unit. The printed circuit boards will remain attached to the lid.
2. Locate the shunt calibration resistor. It is located on the ana-
log circuit board (furthest from the lid), near the transducer connector
location. The resistor is mounted in two pin jacks for easy removal.
Using a pair of long-nose pliers, gently remove the resistor, and
replace it with the proper value for your transducer.
3. Carefully replace the lid on PIM-3 and screw it in place.
