3.3.4 Motor Start/Stop Method
Refer to the timing chart in Figure 3-5 when designing the control circuit or software for starting and stopping
the motor. Also note the following precautions:
(1) Start
step
To start the motor from the pause (no excitation) state, shift the motor to the sequence of print step after
exciting the same phase as that of the stop step for the first acceleration step time of the acceleration
step.
To restart the motor from the stop step, immediately shift the motor to the sequence of print step.
(2) Stop
step
To stop the motor, excite the same phase as the last one in the printing step for 65ms.
(3) Pause
state
In the pause state, do not excite the motor to prevent to the motor from overheating. Even when the
motor is not excited, holding torque of the motor prevents the thermal paper from moving.
