•
Familiarize yourself with the applicable manuals before servicing.
•
Always allow the pump to cool before servicing. Do not remove fittings from an
overheated pump as vapor pressure within the pump may cause parts being removed to
be ejected with great force.
•
Drain the pump before servicing. Do not drain fuel on to the ground. Drain into a
container which can be closed.
•
Use non-sparking tools.
•
Observe precautions against electrical shock or sparks when servicing the pump. Always
disconnect power before repairing or servicing. Never apply electrical power to the
system when any of the cover plates are removed.
