Enter your
appliance
’s fully qualified hostname (for
example,
sidewinder.
example.com
)

In the
external
interface area, select how the
appliance
should get its external address:
•
Obtain an IP address automatically
— This option
indicates the
appliance
will use Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to obtain its IP
address from a DHCP server reachable on the
external network.
•
Specify an IP address
—
Type a unique IP address
for the external interface. The
Netmask
field
autopopulates with a recommended netmask. If the
recommended netmask is incorrect, edit this netmask.

In the
internal
interface area, type a unique IP address
for the internal interface. The
Netmask
field
autopopulates with a recommended netmask. If the
recommended netmask is incorrect, edit this netmask.

Next

Note: Internal Mail Host
is the only field
available for entry in this window if the appliance
is obtaining an IP address automatically.

In the
Primary
field, enter the IP address of the DNS
resolver that will handle your
appliance
’s DNS requests.

[Optional] In the
Secondary
field, enter the IP address of
an alternate DNS resolver. This resolver can be one of
the following:
•
A different primary resolver in another burb (one in the
external burb, one in the internal burb)
•
A secondary resolver in the same burb to query if the
DNS server at the first IP address does not respond

In the
Default route
field, enter the IP address of the
router that will handle packets destined for addresses not
in your
appliance
’s routing table.

In the
Internal Mail Host
field, enter the mail host to
which mail addressed to users on your internal network
will be forwarded. You can enter a fully qualified domain
name or an IP address.

[Conditional] If you need to define a static route to reach
your remote management console, select the option at
the bottom of the window.
