MINERAL BUILD-UP
Depending on the mineral content (also known as "hardness") of the water you use, it is
normal for mineral build-up or scaling to occur on the stainless steel interior. Even fi ltered water
contains some minerals, so scaling with likely happen over time.
For optimal performance, we recommend decalcifying your kettle regularly to prevent any
excessive build-up, which can reduce the effi ciency and lifespan of your kettle. Removing
mineral deposits can be done using the following method:
1. Fill the kettle to the MAX line with a vinegar solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm
water. For example, if your kettle has a MAX fi ll line at 1-liter (34 ounces), fi ll the kettle with
0.5-liters (17 ounces) of white vinegar and 0.5-liters (17 ounces) of warm water.
2. Replace the lid and place the kettle on its base.
3. Plug the power cord into an outlet and following the kettle’s operating instructions for boiling
water.
4. Once the water boils and the kettle shuts off, allow the kettle to sit for 30 minutes.
5. After 30 minutes, carefully empty the kettle and rinse with cool water.
6. Wipe the interior with a soft cloth to remove any remaining build-up.
7. If mineral deposits remain, you may repeat steps 1 – 5 up to two more times to remove as
much of the mineral build-up as possible.
8. After the third time, repeat steps 1 - 5 using only water to ensure the interior of the kettle is
clean and vinegar-free.
9. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
