14. Protection of privacy (national laws apply)
Personal rights:
Please respect others’ personal rights to privacy when
installing the SECACAM HomeVista. SECACAM HomeVista Mobiles in the
possession of individuals are not intended to be used to monitor public areas
where people are recognizable in any way! The same rule applies for record-
ing photos or videos of license plates of vehicles.
Monitoring of public areas:
Please observe all national laws and regula-
tions regarding the legality of recording in public areas (streets, sidewalks,
parking lots, etc.) by private persons. Please refrain from using the camera in
such an environment that is in defiance of the law.
Surveillance cameras at the place of work:
Please observe all national
laws and regulations regarding the legality of recording at the workplace by
an individual. Please refrain from using the camera in the workplace in a way
that is in defiance of the law.
Delete recordings:
Photos or videos of people that have not been informed
or given consent that they may be recorded should be deleted immediately.
Property protection:
If using the camera for property surveillance or to
investigate administrative offenses or crimes, please ensure that only per-
pe-trators, rather than innocent bystanders are recorded.
Handing over recordings to law enforcement agencies:
Only in the case
of an offense or a criminal act, may you hand over your recordings to law
enforcement agency – please do not distribute your photos and videos to
outside third parties! The authorities will then decide on the further use of the
photos or video.
15. Hazard, saftey and warning notices
Intended use:
The SECACAM HomeVista Mobile is intended for the record-
ing of digital photos and videos. It is intended for use by private individuals.
Using AC adapters:
Please only use the recommended 12V power adapt-
ers. Using a power adapter that does not utilize the voltages specified on
the rating plate (6V) poses the risk of fire and/or electrocution. Disconnect
the power adaptor from the camera by pulling the power adapter out of the
socket. Ensure adequate ventilation and do not cover the AC adapter (not
