Fire - Fire is a serious hazard. Do not remain on

board and fight a fire for more than a few minutes.

Extinguish all smoking materials, shut off
blowers, stoves, gas valves, engines and

generators.

Throw burning materials overboard, if possible.

If the fire is accessible, empty the contents of

the extinguisher at the base of the fire. If the fire

is in the engine department and you have an

automatic extinguisher wait 15mins before

opening the engine room hatch, and have a
