Appendix A: SPOT Commands
Introduction
History:
AT stands for Attention.
Hayes (a modem
manufacturing company)
originally developed these
commands.
This sections looks at the commands and controls from PC
applications that SPOT supports.
–
Hayes AT Commands:
AT commands are a series of commands for modem
control. They are widely used and form a standard for
PC applications to control modems.
See "Hayes AT
Commands" on page 18.
–
Hayes ATV Commands:
Normally modems are used for the interchange of
signals between computers. The AT command set has
been expanded to support the interchange of recorded
voice signals. SPOT supports several of these new ATV
(voice) commands.
See "ATV Commands" on page 20.
–
SPOT Custom AT Commands:
As a modem device contained within a standard
telephone terminal, SPOT supports a series of extra
telephone commands. These allow PC applications to
monitor telephone events on SPOT and to send
telephone commands to SPOT.
