INTERIOR EQUIPMENT
10.1 Head Compartment
The head compartment is located on the star-
board side of the cabin. A hinged cushion raises
to provide access to the marine toilet and there
are storage compartments, mirror and a hatch to
access helm components in the bulkhead next to
the cushion. Daylight and ventilation is provided
by an opening port window above the cushion and
a 12-volt light provides additional lighting.
10.2 Marine Head System
Manual Head
A manual marine toilet is provided as standard
equipment. The flush water is supplied by a
thru-hull fitting in the stern bilge and a raw water
supply line. The head intake thru-hull fitting and
sea cock is located in the stern bilge.
Before using, open the inlet valve on the head,
twist the pump handle to the unlocked position
and pump to wet the inside of the bowl. After
use, close the inlet valve and pump to discharge
the waste to the holding tank. Once the waste is
discharged, the toilet should be pumped dry and
the pump handle turned to the locked position.
The waste is pumped directly into the holding
tank where it remains until it is pumped out by a
waste dumping station or the optional overboard
discharge pump.
Holding Tank
The holding tank is located below the cockpit in
the center bilge compartment. When the tank
is full it must either be pumped out by an ap-
proved waste dumping station through the waste
deck fitting or pumped overboard by the optional
waste discharge pump, when legal to do so.
The
overboard discharge pump is in the stern bilge
and discharges waste to a thru-hull fitting in the
hull side below the waterline. The pump is pro-
tected by the Discharge circuit breaker located in
the accessory circuit breaker panel and another
breaker in the Holding Tank Overboard Discharge
switch in the panel located on the bulkhead near
the head.
