CAUTION
The water system is equipped with a strainer
on the intake side of the pump. The pump and
strainer are accessed by removing the access
panel at the bottom of the rear cabin bulkhead.
There is a 6”, inspection plate in the panel near
the pump that allows you to inspect the pump and
strainer without removing the access panel. The
strainer should be checked frequently and cleaned
as necessary.
Whenever the boat is left unattended, the Fresh
Water Pump switch should be placed in the OFF
position.
DO NOT ALLOW THE WATER PUMP TO RUN DRY. THE
PUMP WORKS ON DEMAND AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF
AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE TANK IS EMPTY. THIS CAN
RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE PUMP. ALWAYS TURN THE FRESH
WATER PUMP SWITCH OFF WHEN THE FRESH WATER SYSTEM
IS NOT IN USE.
5.3 Fresh Water System Maintenance
Information supplied with water system compo-
nents by the equipment manufacturers is included
with this manual. Refer to this information for
additional operation and service data.
Routine Maintenance
The following items should be done routinely to
maintain your fresh water system:
• Periodically remove and clean the water
strainer located near the intake side of the
fresh water pump. To clean the strainer,
make sure the Fresh Water Pump switch is
off. Remove the cabin panel to access the
pump and strainer. Rotate the strainer bowl
counterclockwise to release it. Remove and
clean the screen with freshwater. Lubricate
the O-ring lightly with silicon or Teflon grease
and reinstall the strainer bowl.
• Remove the filter screens from the faucet
spout and eliminate any accumulation of
debris. A build up of debris can cause the
pump to cycle excessively.
• Periodically spray the pump and metal
components with a metal protectant.
