automatically adjusted for speed (the faster the speed, the
further the look-ahead point).
The sensitivity ranges from 1 - 9 (with 5 being the default).
Increase the sensitivity to bring the look-ahead point closer to
the vehicle (and avoid drifting off line); decrease the sensitivity
to move the look-ahead point further out (reduce oscillation).
•
Proportional Setup
- Proportional setup determines the
amount of responsiveness and the stability of the steering.
There are four adjustments you may need to make for
proportional setup:
•
Mode
: Proportional (recommended, default) or non-
proportional.
•
Proportional Band
: Range = 1.0 - 100.0 (5 is the default).
Increase this value to get more stability, but less response
(drift). If the vehicle is drifting away from the line or not
approaching the line fast enough, decrease the value in
increments of 1.0. Increase the value if the vehicle is
oscillating at too high a frequency.
•
Min Output
: 0 to 100% with 30% as the default. This value
determines the minimum voltage that will be applied
when the desired output is 0%. If it takes a long time for
the steering to respond, increase the value in increments
of 5. Increasing this value results in a larger voltage forcing
a steering response. Continue to increase the value until
the system steers to the left and right with a valve test.
Decrease this value if the steering is very abrupt.
•
Max Output
: 0 to 100 % with 100% as the default. This
value corresponds to the maximum voltage that will be
applied when the desired output is 100%. Generally this
should stay at 100. It should only be decreased if the
maximum is too severe.
