Calibrating the fuel quantity indicator
When changing the type of fuel, for example AVGAS to car gasoline,
recalibrating of the fuel indication must be done.
Recalibration of the fuel indication is done with fully retracted power plant and
completely
filled fuselage tank, this means that the fuselage tank must be
filled, until fuel spills from the ventilation line, or at least until fuel can be seen
in the ventilation line itself inside the baggage compartment. Place a suitable
container below the opening of the ventilation line outlet on the bottom side of
the fuselage, aft the undercarriage opening.
Scroll with the menu button through the menu on the LCD display of the
engine control unit until it shows
C A L _
, thereafter hold the menu button
for 3 seconds to start the calibration process. If the calibration has been
successfully completed, the display shows as a consequence of the calibration
first the calibration factor
C 1 0 0
for example and then the indication of the
fuel quantity (LIT) in the filled tank.
If the calibration factor is not displayed the calibration procedure must be
repeated.
An error message
E _ C A
is displayed for a correction factor of more than
30 %. In such a case, no calibration is executed and the previous calibration
factor is used.
After recalibration drain at least 0.3 Ltr. fuel to achieve sufficient expansion
volume in the fuel tank.
Important note:
A calibration with partial filled tank or no calibration after a change of the
fuel type leads to wrong indication up to 30%.
The fuel content indicated on the display can in such a case be
more than
the actual fuel content!
