Horizontal tailplane
o
Screw the round-headed rigging tool into the front locating pin of the
tailplane on the leading edge of the fin.
o
Slide the horizontal tailplane aft onto the two elevator actuating pins, pull
rigging tool and its pin forwards, seat stabilizer nose.
o
Push locating pin home into the front tailplane attachment fitting, therefore
push the leading edge of the tailplane downwards against the resistance of
the seal tape, so that either a small force is needed to secure the pin or that
it even secures on its own.
o
Remove rigging tool.
o
The locating pin must not protrude in front of the leading edge of the fin.
o
Check whether the elevator actuating pins are really inserted correctly by
moving the elevator and if the horizontal tailplane is seated correctly on the
fin.
After rigging
o
Perform a rudder check with an assistant.
Important Note:
On the outboard wing panels do not tape the gap between both outer
ailerons, between inner and outer wing panels and between outer ailerons
and winglet.
o
Tape the wing/fuselage joint and the inboard/outboard wing panel joint.
o
Tape the joint between winglet and outboard panel.
o
Insert TEK-probe and pitot extension (optional) in the vertical fin and
secure it with tape.
o
Tape the opening for the front tailplane attachment pin.
Note:
Sealing with tape is beneficial in terms of performance and it also has a
major effect in reducing the noise level.
