Drive Wheel Spindle
Removal
1.
Remove the drive wheel (refer to the
procedure in this section).
2.
Remove the screws attaching the spindle to
the frame. The spindle is very heavy. DO
NOT let the spindle drop and damage the
threads or the bearing surfaces.
Replacement
1.
Clean old thread locking compound and oil
from the holes and bolts before reassembly.
2.
Align the cutout in the spindle with the hole in
the frame. Insert two screws to keep the
spindle in place.
3.
Install the remaining screws and lock washers
with a small amount of thread lock compound.
Tighten to 80 lb-ft.
4.
Remove the first two screws, apply thread
lock compound, and reinstall with lock
washers. Tighten to 80 lb-ft.
5.
Install the drive wheel.
6.
Test drive the truck for proper operation.
