11-4. Checkpoints for Each Component and Check Procedure
11-4-1. Indoor Controller (control section)
●
Check for any problems such as disconnections or contact faults in the display board connector.
●
Also check for disconnections or contact faults at all other terminals.
11-4-2. Indoor Fan Motor
< SAP-KMV91G and SAP-KMV181G >
●
Check for disconnections or contact faults at the connector for the indoor fan.
11-4-3. Sensors
●
Remove the sensors from the board to check for disconnections or short-circuits.
●
A faulty sensor can be judged by using the self-diagnosis function or by referring to thermistor characteristics.
11-4-4. Inter-unit Wiring
●
Check that all wiring is connected properly to the terminal plate, and each wire is connected to the corre-
sponding position.
●
Check whether the wiring may be inadvertently connected to each other somewhere in the middle.
11-4-5. Switchboard
●
Check for continuity at the ON, OFF TEST, and DEMO switches with a tester.
11-4-6. Indoor / Outdoor Control Board
●
Check for disconnections or connection faults.
Check defective connection of
the connector for control board.
Check contact faults of
leads and connectors.
Check for disconnection of
fan motor winding.
Gently rotate fan by
hand a few times.
Foreign matter or a projection on
fan casing is preventing
fan from rotating.
Fan motor coil is burnt or
foreign matter has gotten into
bearings of fan motor.
Fan will not
rotate at all.
If fan rotates easily
the fan motor is in
normal condition.
Remove the problem.
Replace or repair fan motor.
●
Measure resistance between
any 2 pins. An open circuit
between any pair of pins
indicates a defective fan
motor.
●
●
●
Do not insert or remove the connector for the outdoor control board while the
power is on. (This will damage the controller.)
CAUTION
11-4-7. Electrolytic Capacitor
●
Remove terminal from electrolytic capacitor and discharge electricity sufficiently before checking with testers.
Set the multimeter to resistance range. The capacitor is good if the pointer bounces momentary.
●
Check if there is swelling or distortion in the casing.
