HardyTest D400

!
1. Introduction
!
!
Welcome to SaluTrons HardyTest D400 operations manual. The D400 was developed to do
fast, comfortable and easy measurements in the field of hardness testing.
!
!
The following are included in the delivery:
!
!
Measuring device: The D400 gauge for hardness tests. From chapter 2
on all functions of the D400
!
are explained.
!
!
Hydraulic impactor: With the hydraulic impactor the actual
measurements are executed. For all necessary information
about the hydraulic impactor see chapter 7.
!
!
Wires: Included is one USB cable for transferring the
measured data from the gauge to the PC and a wire for connecting the gauge with
the hydraulic impactor. You connect the wire by inserting the end with the three
spikes to the hydraulic impactor and the other end to the round input at the top of
the gauge. Note that there is a red dot at the input as well as at the end of the wire.
To plug in the wire correctly both dots have to match with each other.
!
!
TKM Link: This is the software for transferring the measured data from the gauge to
your Windows PC. You can find all relevant information in chapter
8.
!
!
Test block: The test block (steel) is used to control the right
calibration of the gauge. It has an hardness of roundabout 800
HLD. If the standard deviation should be higher then +/- 6 HLD
contact our service department.
!
!
Paste: The included paste serves for connecting a test coupon with
a weight below 5 kg to a heavier object. See chapter 7.2 for details.
!
!
Brush: Cleaning brush for the hydraulic impactor. See chapter 6.2.
