HardyTest D400
6. Maintenance
!
!
The HardyTest D400 in general doesn't need to be maintained to much. Nevertheless there
are to thinks to consider.
!
!
6.1 Batteries
!
!
The gauge operates with an 9 Volt block battery. If the battery status should be low obviously
the battery has to be changed. To do that it is necessary to open the stand and to remove the
screw at the middle backside of the gauge.
!
!
Note
: Batteries are hazardous waste and are therefore to dispose properly.
!
!
I
n order to optimize the operation of the device, it is recommended:
!
!
-Not to mix new batteries with old ones.
!
!
-Use alkaline batteries.
!
!
-Change batteries whenever indicated by the instrument.
!
!
-If the device won´t be used for a long period of time, it is recommendable to remove
the batteries from the battery compartment to avoid damage due to battery aging.
!
!
6.2 Maintenance of the hydraulic impactor
!
!
In order to ensure a long life performance of the hydraulic impactor we advice you to clean it
from time to time. The only things you need is the in the delivery included brush and some fat
free solvent. You need to rub the solvent on the brush and insert it as indicated below.
!
Caution: The user should never lubricate any part of the device!
!
!
It is also crucial to check the right calibration with the test block (800 HLD; steel) provided. If
the standard deviation should be higher then +/- 6 HLD the impactor is probably used up. In
this case contact our service department.
