6. MAINTENANCE, WARRANTY AND SERVICE.
6.1. BATTERY MAINTENANCE.
This UPS series only requires a minimum maintenance. The bat- •
tery used in the standard models is lead acid, sealed, valve reg-
ulated and maintenance free. These models require a minimum
of repairs only. The only requirement is to charge the UPS regu-
larly to prolong the expected battery lifetime. Meanwhile it is
connected to the mains power supply, never mind if the UPS is
turned on or not, it will keep the batteries charged and will also
give a protection against overcharging and over discharging.
The UPS has to be charged every 3 months, if it is not used for

long time.
In hot areas, the battery should be charged and discharged
•
every 2 months. The standard charging period should be 5 hours
to 90% of the charge batteries.
Under normal conditions, the battery lifetime is from 3 to 5
•
years at 25ºC ambient temperature. In such case that the bat-
tery were not in good conditions, it should be replaced before.
The replacing has to be done by qualified staff.
Always replace them with the same number and type.
•
Do not replace one battery only. All the batteries have to be •
replaced together and according to the manufacturer’s instruc-
tions.
Usually, the batteries have to be charged and discharged every
•
3 months. The charging should start when the UPS would have
shutdown due to a deep battery discharge. The charge time for a
standard UPS should be 5 hours to 90% of the charge batteries.
6.2. NOTES fOR INSTALLING AND REPLACING ThE
BATTERY.
Before installing the batteries, take rings, watches and brace- 1.
lets off.
If it were needed to replace the connection of any cable, ask
2.
for original parts to authorised distributors or service centres
in order to avoid overheating or sparks with fire danger due to
an inadequate size.
Do not throw the batteries to fire, explosion danger exists.

Do not open the batteries; the electrolyte spillage is very toxic 4.
and harmful for the skin and eyes.
Do not short-circuit the + and - poles of the batteries, electro-

cution or fire danger exists.
Make sure that there is not any voltage before handling the

batteries. The battery circuit is not isolated from the input cir-
cuit. There could be dangerous voltages between the battery
and earth terminals.
Although the input circuit breaker is turned off, internal parts
7.
of the UPS are still connected to the batteries, therefore dan-
gerous voltage exists. So, before doing any repair or mainte-
nance job, turn off the battery circuit breaker or remove the
connection between battery blocks.
The batteries have dangerous voltages. The maintenance 8.
or replacement of the batteries has to be done by qualified
staff, which should be familiarized with them. No other person
should handle them.
6.3. TROUBLEShOOTING GUIDE.

The power supply to the loads will
broken in short. It is recommended
to shutdown them.
The warning code is 07
and the acoustic alarm
beeps every second. Oveload Reduce the number of loads
connected to the UPS output.

08 or 06 or 08 with a
