numbers by SAE standard
Attention
Always before checking the
engine oil, make sure that around
the oil pan, oil drain, and dipstick
are clean.
This is most important when
driving on sandy and dusty roads.
Cleaning oil drain location and
dipstick prevents the penetration
of dust into the engine and other
parts.
The engine oil viscosity has a direct
effect on the fuel consumption and
the engine performance in cold
weather (engine start and oil flow).
Low engine oil viscosity improves
the fuel economy and the engine
performance in cold weather. On
the other hand, high engine oil
viscosity improves the engine
performance in warm weather.
Notice that using the non-standard
engine oil can cause damage in the
engine.
When changing the engine oil,
choose the recommended oil
viscosity based on the temperature
range of the area you want to
drive the vehicle as shown in the
following table.
