SAFETYLINK’S GUIDELINES

 

 
Prior to ladder assembly, refer below 

SafetyLink’s 

installation guidelines and considerations based on AS1657:2018.  

 
 

1.

 

Minimum clearances from ladders to permanent 
objects must be:  

 

-200mm at the back. 

 

-50mm at the sides. 

 

-750mm at the front. Preferred 900mm. 

 

-350mm either side of front centre.

 

2.

 

The distance from the bottom landing to the top of 
the first rung shall not be less than 90% (270mm) 
of the above rung spacings of 300mm.

 

 

 

 

 

3.

 

Maximum allowable height between top 
landing and roof shall not be exceed 300mm.  
Additional steps will be required for heights 
over 300mm.

 

 

4.

 

Top rung shall be at same height as landing
