4.1.2 Mounting the Door/Window Sensor
• Mount the transmitter on a fixed surface such as a door or
window frame with double-sided adhesive pad provided.
• Mount the magnet onto a moving surface such as a door or a
window.
Ensure the triangle marks on the magnet match up to the lines on
the left/right side of the transmitter as shown. The transmitter and
the magnet must not have a gap of more than 5 mm apart when
installed on the door/window otherwise the sensor will remain in a
triggered state.
Make sure that the devices are installed correctly by opening
the door / window. When the contact is broken, the little lamp on the battery pack light
briefly and indicates that a change is detected. If the light does not appear, the units are
mounted too far apart.
4.2 Motion Sensor
4.2.1 Introduction of Motion Sensor
The Motion Sensor consists of two parts, including a sensor
unit and a mounting bracket. It is designed to sense move-
ment in a given area.
Important: The Motion Sensor is designed with a built-in sleep
timer to save battery power. In operation mode, the Motion
Sensor will sleep for 3 minutes after every trigger. Any move-
ment detected in the sleep period will not be reported.
4.2.2 Powering up the Motion Sensor
• Loosen the screw at the bottom and
remove the front cover.
• Insert a 3V (CR123A) battery not provided,
noting the correct polarity.
• Replace and secure the front cover with
screw.
Low battery indication: If the batteries need
to be replaced, the RED LED will flash (not
including entry / exit delay flashing).
4.2.3 Mounting the Motion Sensor
First, determine the location of the Motion Sensor.
•
The Sensor should not be easily accessible.
•
The Sensor should be placed in the most vulnerable rooms or near key entry points.
•
Place the Sensor on a sturdy surface between 1.8 m to 2.4 m from the floor.
•
The Sensor should not be placed near extreme temperature sources (ovens, stoves etc.)
•
The Sensor should not be placed in direct sunlight.
•
Do not install the Sensor outdoors or behind partitions.
•
If necessary, change to a different location for better range performance .
Mount the Motion Sensor with screws provided
•
Hold the enclosed mounting template against the wall at the se-
lected location and mark the points for drilling
•
Drill the holes and insert wall plugs
•
Attach the bracket to the mounting surface with the screws pro-
vided
•
Attach the Motion Sensor to the mounting bracket
Note: The distance at which the sensor is able to detect motion
can be adjusted by altering the angle of the sensor. Simply move the
sensor downward or upward to reduce or expand the range
4.2.4 Sensor sensitivity
The sensitivity of the Motion Sensor is adjustable and can be changed by setting the
jumper/connector found in the battery compartment, either “High”, “Middle” or “Low”. You
can perform a “walk test” after each change in sensitivity setting to see if the sensor is
triggered correctly.
When the sensitivity is set to “Low”, more movement is required to trigger the sensor. It
is recommended to set the sensitivity to “Low” and perform a “Walk Test”. According to
the result of walk test, adjust the sensitivity as required. It is suggested that walk test be
conducted after each change in sensitivity setting.
4.2.5 Walk test
After it has been mounted at the desired location and powered up, the motion sensor will
go into a TEST Mode which will last for 10 minutes.
This allows you to check whether the sensor is detecting the correct area. You should
walk in the area where the motion sensor is expected to monitor. When movement is
detected, the red light inside the unit will appear. If the sensor doesn’t detect movement
within desired area, adjust the mounting angle accordingly and test again.
Repeat this procedure until motion is detected. After 10 minutes, TEST Mode will end.
Tips:
Also perform the walk test in areas which the sensor is not intended to cover, to
ensure movement cannot be detected.
